Where I Call Home

Where I Call Home is a video and 2D animation piece to show viewers around a small Connecticut town. However, the goal of the piece is to get the viewers to realize that this town is more than just the tragedy that it is known for. Such as the name of the film, Where I Call Home, it is necessary to look deeper to find out where that place really is. With a title this general, I could live anywhere in the world with the endless possibilities of what it is like there. Why is the town name not provided? I want you to enter the film with an open mind, no judgments, no pre-existing opinions. This film brings you through staples of my town while allowing you to hear the stories of residents, and my story of what it was like to grow up there. The interviews included allow you to hear stories of different ages and perspectives in order to see how much the town really means to everyone. For this project, I wanted to combine my passion for video and animation to bring to screen a topic close to my heart. I hope that this film opens the eyes of viewers who may have previously viewed my town simply and allows them to see all that we are really made of. At the end of the film, the location of my story, and my life, will be revealed. When that happens, I hope you will be able to see my town for all that it really is and not just the stigmas that come with its name.

From shooting the drone footage, editing the footage in Adobe Premiere Pro, and creating 2D animation in After Effects, the project was done entirely by me.
